At my practice in Athens, in a quiet space that protects your privacy.
By video call on Google Meet. All you need is a stable connection and a quiet place where you won't be disturbed. Online sessions are also available to Greeks living abroad.
The first meeting is a chance to get to know each other and to explore. It is a space where whatever brings you to therapy can be put into words, explored, and begin to make sense.
It is also where we lay the first foundations of the therapeutic relationship. That relationship is itself part of the therapy, and it grows as we work together.
Therapy doesn't last the same length of time for everyone. It is shaped by what each person brings, their needs and their own path, and we review it together as therapy progresses.
You can cancel or change an appointment up to 24 hours before it starts.
You can contact me by phone or email. We'll talk briefly about what brings you to therapy and find a day and time that suits you. This first contact is a chance to get to know each other and to see whether the way I work fits what you are looking for.
The first session is mainly a way of getting to know each other. We talk about what is on your mind, what brings you to therapy and what you would like to change or explore. We can also see whether we are building a working relationship in which you feel safe and able to trust. You don't need to prepare anything in particular.
The length of therapy is not the same for everyone. It depends on each person's reasons for coming, their needs, their goals and how things develop. For some people the therapeutic process may be shorter, while for others it may take more time. The length and the goals of therapy are reviewed along the way and discussed together.
Online sessions can offer an effective therapeutic setting for many people, but they don't suit everyone in the same way. Whether they are a good fit depends on your needs, your reasons for coming, the goals of therapy and the circumstances in which the sessions take place. We can discuss together which setting — in person or online — suits you best.
Yes. Therapy is bound by professional confidentiality, and what you share in sessions stays between us. Your personal data is handled in line with the law and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The law allows a few limited exceptions, for example when someone's life or physical safety is at serious risk. These limits are part of the therapeutic framework, and we talk about them openly.
As a rule, sessions need to be cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance. If something unexpected comes up on the day, we can talk it through and take the circumstances into account.
Cancellations, changes and the practical side of therapy in general are agreed at the start and set out in our therapy agreement. We can also revisit them during therapy if needed.
Yes, online sessions are possible for people who live abroad.
No. You don't need a referral from a doctor to start psychotherapy. You can contact me directly and we can talk about what brings you to therapy. If working alongside a psychiatrist or another health professional seems useful or necessary, we'll discuss it together and, with your consent, I may suggest a referral or a collaboration.
